Why We Refuse Mass Tourism
01 / Strict Batch Cap of Ten
Mass agencies herd 35 people behind a loudspeaker. We cap at 10 to protect trail ecology, preserve mountain solitude, and maintain an uncompromising 1:5 guide-to-trekker safety ratio.
02 / Experience The Himalayas
We believe real trekking is about depth, not mass tourism. Our local teams know every shepherd hut, alpine meadow, spring water source, and weather pocket to give you an authentic journey.
03 / Founders Reply to DMs
No commissioned call center agents or outsourced support bots. When you ask about gear weight, AMS acclimatization, or trail conditions, you talk directly with founders Brajesh & Niraj who hike these routes.
"If you have to scream over 30 strangers at 14,000 feet, you didn't escape anything."

Tired of Trails Turned into Conveyor Belts
Between 2016 and 2020, commercial trekking in India exploded into a volume game. Aggregators packed 30 to 40 people per camp, outsourced guiding to underpaid day-laborers, and left behind microplastics disguised as eco-tourism.
We built The Hiking India as the antidote. We keep our batches tiny, invest in heavy-duty winter mountaineering gear, pay living wages to indigenous Sherpas and locals, and spend half our year personally on the trail.

"No 30-person crowd pushing behind you. Brajesh noticed my boot lacing issue on Day 2 before any blisters started. That's real mountain guide attention."
"I was skeptical about paying a bit more, but when we saw commercial groups eating cold food while Niraj's team cooked hot fresh thukpa at 14,000 ft, every rupee was justified."
"Trekking with The Hiking India was transformative. Tashi and the local mountain crew knew every stream, hidden ridge, and weather window on Bhrigu Lake."
